Icelandic language
Originally Old West Norse was spoken on the Iceland. Icelandis is more close to Old Norse than Faroese and has less
influence of the Celtic influence, mostly in name of places and family names.
The written language has only changed a little since the 13th language although the pronounciation of wovels
foremost changed between ca the 12th and the 16th centuries. Therefore, Icelanders today can read even the original
Icelandic sagas and Edda that were written in the 13th century.
